Flower Fields let’s you hold your breath while appreciating the beauty of the immense collection of unique flowers. The rolling hills of San Diego are one of the most spectacular displays of natural color and beauty around the world. Kids can run and adults can linger in the 50 acres of color in bloom on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean, with a unique nursery, garden, and gift shop by Armstrong Garden Centers, and festivals throughout the season. The approximately fifty acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that comprise The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch are in a full bloom for nearly six to eight weeks each year - from early March through early May - literally making the fields alive again. This annual shower of color, which is a part of the area's local heritage, is also one of nature's ways of announcing the arrival of spring.
